EWEDU SEED
Method of planting Ewedu seeds prepare well-drained, fertile soil, then soak the seeds in warm water for a short period or boil them in a cloth to break dormancy. After this, spread the seeds directly onto the prepared bed and gently press them into the soil to ensure they have contact with the earth. Water the seeds daily until germination, which can take 4 to 10 days, and then continue with regular watering.
1. Prepare the Soil
- Loosen the soil: Till the planting area to loosen the topsoil and improve aeration.
- Add nutrients: Mix poultry waste or other organic matter into the soil to provide essential nutrients.
- Create beds: Make raised beds or furrows in the prepared soil to allow for easy watering and weeding.
2. Break Seed Dormancy

Boiling method:Alternatively, tie the seeds in a cloth and suspend them in hot (but not boiling) water for a few minutes, then dry them.
3. Sow the Seeds
- Broadcast seeds: Spread the prepared seeds evenly over the prepared soil bed.
- Ensure soil contact: Gently press the seeds into the soil so they make good contact, but avoid burying them too deeply.
4. Water and Grow
- Daily watering: Water the seeds in the morning and evening to keep the soil moist.
- Sunlight: Place the seeds in a spot with full sun to promote quick germination.
- Watch for germination: Seeds typically germinate in 4 to 10 days.
